Our motion for Spring 2, week 4 is:

There should be no education after primary school so that children can get jobs and start earning their keep.

The debating group members are becoming more and more eloquent, week by week. They are growing in confidence and learning to produce justified counter-arguments.

Our motion for week 2 Spring 2 term is:

Girls should be educated separately from boys as they are more intelligent.

Our next motion for week 1 Spring 2 is:

Should surveillance cameras be used in primary schools?

Debating club - Tuesday 6th February 2018

Should mobile phones be allowed in the primary classroom? The 'For' group are this week's winners. Well done!

Crampton Voice

The school council is group of students who are elected to represent the views of all pupils and to improve our school. They will meet regularly to discuss and sort out problems which may include school lunches, behaviour or ideas for fundraising events.

What makes a good one?
A good school council is one that represents the views of all students, gets things done and ensures that there is good communi
cation between the elected representatives and their class.

Crampton Voice - Here are some of our current school councillors.

On Tuesday 23rd January, the new Crampton debating club held their first meeting. We discussed some ground rules, the general structure of debating and brainstormed some possible topics. Next week our topic for discussion will be:

Should mobile phones be allowed in the classroom?

If your child is part of our group, please ask them whether they are in the 'for' or 'against' group and prompt them to come up with some independent arguments to present.

Thank you

Miss Taylor
