The Dance Festival is this Friday at 9.30. Everyone is welcome.
The children will be sitting outside waiting their turn so they will need sun hats. White tops and grey trousers - long or short.
The trip to the seaside at Minnis Bay is next Tuesday.
The children will need; swimming things, towel, packed lunch, sun hat. If they normally have sun cream on then please put it on before school and send some with your child. They can bring a bucket and spade and sun glasses etc but do remember that things can easily get lost on the beach!
There will be lots of adults and the sea is very shallow. They will only be able to paddle - usually up to their knees! There will be adults standing in the water and there are lifeguards on the beach.
My last day is next Monday and I will see you all on Friday the 21st.
We are writing about Sparky the Seahorse who is in the picture below. We have sand and a treasure chest on the bottom of the sea.
We are practicing for the Dance Festival on the 7th of July. The children will be using the coloured pom poms so I think if they wear black it will look good.
There will be parent meetings during the week of 26th June and I will put up a list of times for you to sign up for.
Next week is the last swimming lesson. Don't forget the INSET day on Friday the 30th June.
Next term our topic is going to be Into Space.
We will be learning all about space and following the adventures of our astronaut called Frances as she gets her space ship ready for take off.
We will be doing PE outside unless it is raining, and it will still be on Thursday. Swimming will be on Friday afternoon.
We will be visiting Vauxhall City Farm to look at the animals and we will have some eggs in the classroom to see if they hatch out into chicks.
We will carry on with chess lessons every Wednesday with pupils from
There will be opportunities to use the bikes in the big playground.
The children all have Writing Targets (like remembering to use finger spaces) and will get stickers every time they do some writing that meets their target.
Now we have done lots of work in maths making sums with different toys and blocks we will begin to write some of them in the maths books. Helping with writing 2, 5 and 8 at home would be great!
Would you like to come and read or tell the children a story?
It would be lovely if you could - it would mean popping in at one o'clock to tell a story for about 5 -10 minutes.
A story that you like or if you are not sure - I can find a book for you.
Let me know if you can!
I'm very sorry that PE kits are going missing. We do our best to make sure the children go home with the right kit and last week we checked all their bags. No one had PE kit in their bag with someone else name!
Please check at home to make sure you don't have the wrong kit.
Norbu's Mother came in to talk to the children about Buddha's life. We learnt that he cared for every living thing including ants.
The children have been working on coding using the web site code.org. You can access this at home and do the same activities to give your child a head start!
We are continuing with our acting - today we did Snow White.
Thank you to everyone who came to see the Christmas show. There are more pictures on Tapestry. And thank you for bringing in everything for the party.
Have a great festive holiday and see you all in January when our topic will be Traditional Fairy Stories.
Christmas dinner is next Tuesday.
The Christmas party will be on Wednesday and that's when Father Christmas will visit.
Our Christmas performance will be at 2.45 on Wednesday.
Thank you for helping with the party things!
Next week we will have two visitors to the class and I hope the children will tell you all about them!
We are working on correctly forming the small letters of the alphabet - any help at home will make a big difference!
I sent home the letter about the Christmas party. Friends and relatives can come to the little Christmas show afterwards but it will be in the classroom so not too many please!
We are still working with Don't let the Pigeon on the Bus. There is a nice youtube of it - the children will show you which one.
PE - Because the Hall is being used for rehearsals we will have to do PE outside.
Soft shoes, long track suit bottoms and a warm top. We won't be outside for very long and there shouldn't be any standing about!
Don't forget you can upload pictures to your Tapestry account - thank you to the parents who are already doing this.
In November we will start with the book 'We're going on a bear hunt'.
Our topic for this half term is Festivals.
During the break the Tapestry log in page will change to tapestryjournal.com . Please let me know if you have any problems logging on.
Welcome to the new website. I will move some videos across later.
Don't forget no school next Friday!
