We thought you might enjoy a few pictures from a recent Pilates session that we had!
Recently Year One went on a fantastic trip to the Horniman Museum. We had a very busy day! First we visited the aquarium where we saw a variety of fish and sea creatures. Next we visited the Mechanical Animals exhibition where we learnt about the different ways that animals move. After lunch we went to the farm to say hello to the different animals there. Lastly we made a quick stop to the outdoor musical area. It was a lovely day and we really enjoyed ourselves!
Last week we had a fantastic science lesson where we used our knowledge of materials and properties to conduct a variety of experiments including:
An experiment to discover which material was the most absorbent
An experiment to discover which materials were waterproof
An experiment to test which materials were bendy
We hope you enjoy some photos from our afternoon of experimentation!
Yesterday we had a very special visit from a road safety officer! Vivienne came into Year One to teach us how to cross a road carefully and safely. We have learnt lots of ways to be safe that we are going to take home to our grown ups. We can't wait to show you what we have learnt!
Below is a fantastic variety of book lists from the ever helpful Literacy Tree. These lists offer a great selection of books suitable for your child either to read independently or for a shared story-time with a grown up.
We hope you are having a fantastic week. This week in our P.E. lesson we were making bridge shapes with our bodies. We used the gym equipment to help us create a variety of poses. When we made our bridge shape we had to hold the pose for 3 seconds. As you can see from the pictures below we managed to make a huge variety of shapes with our bodies!
Have a great week,

Have a great week!
As you know we recently performed our Nativity "Hey You" to rave reviews! We thought you would enjoy some pictures of the day. We would like to give a big THANK YOU to all the adults involved including; Adults at home who helped us learn our lines, Denise, Kate, Mrs Rolls, Miss Jackson, Miss Stansfield and Mrs Giles.
Welcome to our new Year One blog page! We will aim to update this once a week with all the exciting things that Year One have been up to!
As you know this term we are performing the annual Crampton Nativity! All of the children have been working so hard and cannot wait to show off their amazing acting skills. Some of the children in the Nativity have speaking parts and are beginning to bring home scripts to help them learn their lines. Please help the children by rehearsing their lines with them. It would be very helpful if you could read them the lines that come before them so they know exactly when they have to speak on stage.
We cannot wait to perform the Nativity and show all of the parents and carers just how hard we have been working.
