Into University Week

 

Into University offer 'an innovative programme that supports young people to attain either a university place

or another chosen aspiration.'

 

 During the week of Monday 7th November,Year 6 took part in a FOCUS week run by Into University Walworth.

The class were taken daily to the centre in Tatum street to learn about their chosen topic 'World War II' whilst practising key numeracy and literacy skills.

As part of the week they visited HMS Belfast. and on the final day and as part of their graduation, they visited Cambridge University

On arrival at the centre on Monday morning the children were welcomed and introduced to the Into University Team. The children participated in 'Icebreakers' before being broken down into four teams (Anne Frank, Billy Strachan, Vera Lynn and Winston Churchill).

Each team were given four tasks to be completed over their time at the centre.

WWII Tasks -  Rationing / Morse Codes / Evacuation / Air Raids and Blackouts
