Following the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games, the Government invested £150 million per year for the academic years 2013-14 and 2014-15 to improve the provision of P.E and sport in primary schools.
With this continued support, all young people should have the opportunity to live healthy lives, a positive experience of sport and physical activity and at a young age can build a lifetime habit of participation.
Physical activity has numerous benefits for children and young people's physical health, as well as their mental wellbeing; children who are physically active are happier, more resilient and more trusting of their peers.
