Admissions

Admissions

Crampton Primary School is a one form entry school and we have 30 places in each year group.

Primary School Admissions are administered by our Local Authority, Southwark. In the event of there being more applications than places available, Southwark will apply their over-subscription criteria.

Reception Admissions Procedure

If your child was born between 1 September 2018 and 31 August 2019, your child is due to start primary school in September 2023.

If you are a Southwark resident, you must apply through the eAdmissions webpage. If you live in another borough you must complete the Common Application Form for the borough in which you live even when applying for a place here at Crampton Primary School.

Southwark will also set a deadline for when applications must be received, we strongly advise that you apply on time and complete the full list of schools you would like to apply for.

Parents / guardians are usually asked to complete preference forms in the Autumn of the year before the child starts school. Places are usually allocated by the Council (not the school) in April – we have a maximum intake of 30 children.

We have one intake each year into Reception, this is at the start of the Autumn Term where pupils are admitted to school in the September.

Once we know our exact intake, we begin the process of ensuring every child’s entry into school is happy and relaxed. In the Summer Term before the September start, we carry out Home Visits where two members of the school team will meet with you; this will be our opportunity to introduce ourselves and to meet your child in their own environment. During the meeting we will discuss anything relevant to help with the settling in period and be able to answer any questions that you may have prior to your child starting school.

In Year admissions for children aged 5 or older

If you have recently come to live in Southwark and would like a place for your child here at Crampton Primary School or have moved addresses within the borough and Crampton is now closer to your new home, you must complete a Southwark In Year Application Form.

Secondary Admissions

The Head Teacher begins the process for secondary transfer in the summer term of year 4 where Individual meetings take place; at this meeting the Head Teacher will discuss the secondary transfer process where a list of schools are drawn up so that by the autumn term of year 5 parents are prepared and visits to possible schools can be made.

If required, a further meeting will take place with the headteacher and the final schools on the list will be revisited in the autumn term of year 6.
